Cindy and Ernie finish their map quickly and are directed to the pit stop, the “Swan House.” Great. Little chance they won’t win now—Jeremy and Sandy aren’t even at the map yet. Anyone else thinking they should make the final leg / final episode longer? Is an hour and half finale too much to ask for or something? It just seemed too quick to the pit stop to me. I really think they should throw a couple more tasks in there just to mix things up a little. Seems with every finale lately one team gets the lead easily and then is at the pit stop before you know it.
Jeremy and Sandy finally arrive at the map, but Ernie and Cindy are nowhere in sight. Any chances of Jeremy and Sandy winning this diminished when they forget about Indonesia. It did not take them long to fix the mistake, but Ernie and Cindy are well on their way to the win. At this point, my only hope is that the GPS directs their taxi right off of a cliff. Of course, the show is trying to cause drama by showing us the GPS recalculating 12 times but I still had little hope. It always happens…if I don’t want a team to win, they win. I probably sealed my own fate on this one by not cheering these two on.
And…my worst fears are confirmed. That damn yellow shirt comes through the gate first. Oh well. There’s always next season.
Jeremy and Sandy are next. I wish we got more perspective on how far behind they were. You can’t ever tell because they are totally playing games with us when they show both teams in taxis at the same time, trying to make it look as if they are neck and neck. Obviously, unless production held off Jeremy and Sandy’s entry into the gate, they were further behind than they were trying to make it seem. Anyway, if I were these two I’d hunt that prick down in the red truck that directed them to the actual Dump. Thanks a lot for your help, dumbass.
Amani and Marcus are last to arrive. Well, that hometown advantage certainly didn’t do much for them. Phil told Marcus “Don’t ever fly a plane.” You’re not kidding, Phil. If I were on a plane and it were going down, I’d put my money on a 5 year old to land it before I’d think of Marcus.
I will say Marcus and Amani had a great attitude over losing and generally throughout the whole race. I was thinking about how likeable these two were until Marcus has to get that one last dig in: He tells us that Amani is “smarter than any quarterback and tougher than any linebacker…” Yeah, so maybe you should’ve let her do one of the tasks on this leg? By the way, for all we knew he never figured out that the L was the 1. Notice how they just trail off on the obvious loser’s progress on the finale? We don’t see him finish typing and we sure as hell didn’t see them do anything with the map.
Thanks to all who have read this column over the past few months. Guess they are busy scouring the country to find the next group of annoying people for Amazing Race 20 even as I write this….See you next season!

Thanx Kim for recapping this season…I absolutely hated the fact that Cindy and Ernie won…especially the Cindy part…your recaps are hilairious and I am looking forward to reading them next season…again thanx for the laughs and Happy Holidays!!!!
Thanks Kim. Another season of TAR comes to an end. This finale was as unenjoyable as watching Rachel win on BB. I wasn’t even looking forward to watching last night.
