Camera takes us back to Marcus’s 12th attempt at the simulator, which was finally successful. Wow, was this as painful for anyone else to watch as it was for me? I could not believe that these two were so positive with each other considering how sucky he was at this task. When Amani went to pat him on the back, I was surprised her armpits weren’t totally dripping. A million bucks on the line and he can’t steer straight 11 times?! These two are unbelievably positive people, seriously. They wouldn’t have been able to air this scene if it were my husband and I. Your TV would’ve sounded like the Jerry Springer Show with all the beeps. We may have even given you a little domestic violence. We’re not talking about sucking and losing 20 bucks here. Anyway, Marcus tells us he was in the Super Bowl but just couldn’t get it done. Anyone else shocked at the reference? Did you guys know he played in the NFL? Yeah, he’s real quiet about it. But here was the real kicker: Amani responds like a female Marcus and says something about if he were in the end zone, she’d still pass the ball to him. It’s like their own little language. But I’ve gotta disagree with Amani. Based on Marcus’s driving skills, he probably couldn’t find the end zone. But even if he were wide open back there, I wouldn’t be passing him the ball. Not unless we had 12 downs anyway. (Okay, have I joined the football talk club or something? It’s almost like I’ve become an honorary member of the family having to listen to Marcus this whole season. I’d be the sarcastic family member, but still).
We’re back to Cindy and Ernie and they use Google to figure out that the next clue leads to Turner Field. When they get there, there is an enormous map. They have to do some wall climbing to connect a rope from country to country in the order they went to each one. Cindy’s doing this task. She seems to be doing well, damn it, though I keep hoping for an impromptu lightning strike or something. But of course not. Every time I decide I can’t stand a team, they win this thing. Cindy’s giddy already. She says “I think I nailed it!” and “This is the coolest map ever!” and a bunch of other excited prattle that just goes to show she can already taste the money. [If I could, I would insert the F word here].
We’re back to Marcus at the typewriter task for like two seconds because they seem to be essentially out of it at this point.
Thanx Kim for recapping this season…I absolutely hated the fact that Cindy and Ernie won…especially the Cindy part…your recaps are hilairious and I am looking forward to reading them next season…again thanx for the laughs and Happy Holidays!!!!
Thanks Kim. Another season of TAR comes to an end. This finale was as unenjoyable as watching Rachel win on BB. I wasn’t even looking forward to watching last night.
