Rachel and Dave finished first AGAIN and are leaving first –I’d say they are the ones to beat at this point. Right away, it was funny to hear Dave say that his relationship with Rachel is more important than the money or the Race. He was going on and on about their relationship being the priority. I guess that’s why he constantly blames and berates her for everything during this thing. I’d be serving this jerk with divorce papers before I got back to America, but that’s just me. I’m sure Rachel has dealt with this same kind of derision even over the dumb stuff at home. Like not putting the hammer back where it belongs in the garage causing a lecture-like rant and maybe him forcing her to do a bunch of push ups or something. Anyway, all the teams were on the same flight, headed to Hiroshima, Japan.

Art and JJ declared: “We just feel that we are the best team.” Oh really? That’s news. Tell us … http://amazingrace.realitysteve.com/?p=90

As if there was any doubt who made the statement that would make up this week’s title, it was good old Rachel from Big Brother. Those promos showed her whining up a storm about how she spent $500 on hair extensions and didn’t want to shave her head. Hey, I totally get that. I wouldn’t want to shave my head even without pricey hair extensions. But Rachel just won a half million on Big Brother. Is $500 all that much to her? Honestly, she kept saying she’d use the whole half million or something on her wedding to Brendan. My guess is she’s probably already dropped more than $500 making sure there are rhinestones on the toilet paper in the bathroom stalls at her wedding reception. No clue why that’s a large amount of money for her all of a sudden, but whatever. You don’t want to shave your head? Just say so. Don’t make a ridiculous excuse about expensive hair extensions.

On to this week’s show. 10th leg and the finale is coming up … http://amazingrace.realitysteve.com/?p=86

Ninth leg of the Race already! Hard to believe we’re two months into the show already. We are getting close enough to the end to start contemplating who is in best shape to win this thing. I’m definitely thinking that it’s between Rachel and Dave and Art and JJ at this point. You never know with this show though. Especially after seeing JJ’s dancing skills on this episode. Another challenge like that may bring him down.

The teams are headed to India. Rachel and Dave seem to realize that they are officially in trouble with JJ and Art. And they are. Art and JJ are really pissed off. These two seem to be the type to hold a grudge. Rachel and Dave are definitely on their radar as targets. I guess that it’s getting near the end so the whole “Let’s help each other” friendships are pretty much out the window either way. Still, it’s definitely not good to become a target near the end with another U-turn in the future.

Anyway, it … http://amazingrace.realitysteve.com/?p=83

Getting closer to the end! Rachel and Dave, first again last week, are off first again. The racers are in Tanzania in Africa. Right off the bat, the border patrol guys are rattling on about how they are dying to use that U-turn on Rachel and Brendon. They apparently made a pact with Rachel and Dave (trying not to call her GF but it’s so annoying to be referring to more than one Rachel in one sentence). They’ve agreed to U-turn both Rachel and Brendon and Nary and Jamie. They are clearly looking to put that final nail in Nary and Jamie’s coffin, which have the extra task to deal with already this week. Smart strategy? I don’t really think so, myself. I would think the double U-turn is a great opportunity to try to get rid of one of the stronger teams. Nary and Jamie are not a stronger team. No way. Again, I would think it was preferable to be with weaker teams at the end of this thing, but that’s just me. … http://amazingrace.realitysteve.com/?p=80

We are back, having had an extra week to prepare ourselves to deal with Rachel from Big Brother and her constant meltdowns again. May as well dive right back in because we all know it’s going to happen this week too.

Dave and Rachel are off first, having finished first last time. I got caught staring at that big forehead again, trying to figure out why it looks so weird. I actually think that she’s got a receding hairline; and paired with that forehead, it looks so large. Not to mention she insists on pulling her hair back, which only exacerbates the problem. Anyway, I’ll move along…I know I’m way too transfixed with Rachel’s head.

So, Art and JJ open the show by declaring that they are the frontrunners. We continue with the ongoing “We’re the best!” theme. What a tremendous shock. What makes no sense though is that they said that they need to get the dead weight to fall out of the Race so that they can win. Uh, I think … http://amazingrace.realitysteve.com/?p=78

Week Five! The Racers are apparently headed for some place called Baku, Azerbaijan. Where exactly IS this place? I guess I was about as surprised that it was in Russia as if they had said the teams were headed for the moon. I think I had an okay grasp of geography right before Russia broke off into all of these various countries. I mean, I literally had NEVER heard of this country before. Pretty sad. What was totally annoying about the teams going there was that they seemed to want to keep mentioning the country name, as if this made them seem like they knew exactly where it was. “We’re headed for Azerbaijan. Baku. A city in Azerbaijan.” We’re not fooled. You had no clue either. Of course, our Southerners weren’t putting on any airs. Mark said they were headed for “Ashabayjay” and that he thought that was in Africa. Gotta love those two.

So, what’s new, Art and JJ are off first again. Joey Fitness and Danny leave second and have a conversation … <a

Those of you who also watched last season of The Amazing Race can probably remember my least favorite couple, (who won the million…of course) Ernie and Cindy. There’s a link to an article about their wedding—believe it or not, Ernie plans to end—I mean spend–his life with Cindy. The pictures were as barfy as expected. Apparently, according to People, these two had “a travel theme, with passports for programs, a departure board telling dinner guests where to sit and menu cards that looked like telegrams in vintage envelopes.” Is it me or is the quest to have a unique wedding getting totally ridiculous and annoying? “The THEME of our wedding is World Traveler….” Warrants a punch in the face to me. I would NOT have wanted to be one of Cindy’s bridesmaids. But what literally takes the cake is that they had a cake that was supposed to mimic Cindy and Ernie on the Amazing Race, with two little figures on top even equipped with little backpacks. If you’re feeling nauseous and looking … <a

All the previews looked to show a virtual implosion of Rachel and Brendon this week. Guess we’ll see if they make it through. Or if we do. They are calling it Mission Impossible for them this week. It’s more like Mission Impossible for us to watch them from what I’ve seen so far.

Art & JJ, having come in first last week, are off first to Italy. Wow. Plane leaves at 9:15 am and arrives next day around 10:35 am. Should make for a fun travel day.

Brendan and Rachel are so excited to go to Italy because that’s where they’ll apparently be honeymooning. That’s a big IF they get married. Is it possible that these two actually make it down the aisle? Even if they do, they’ll beat Kim Kardashian’s record of 72 days with Kris Humphries for sure. I mean, if you can’t control how juvenile and annoying you are with your significant other on national TV, can you imagine how bad it is in real life … <a

Rachel and Dave were in first again, so they also leave first. Flying to Paraguay from Buenos Aires. Smart move on Rachel’s part, she’s wearing a hat for most of the episode. I may even lay off her large forehead a little. It’s gonna be hard though because even the theme of the show has to do with heads. I’ll see what I can do.

Border patrol is a close second in leaving and they seem pleased they are headed for another Spanish-speaking country. They say that they will dominate because of it. Uh huh. Didn’t do them much good in the last leg of the race if I remember correctly. Guess we’ll see. Thanking the taxi drivers and saying “Faster!” in Spanish doesn’t seem to be all that above the other contestants. Maybe the accent is a little more authentic, but ultimately, I’m not hearing long conversations or anything out of these two.

Dave and Rachel arrive at the … http://amazingrace.realitysteve.com/?p=64

Hello again everyone. Here we are at week #2 of Season 20. Rachel (a/k/a Giant Forehead “G.F.”) and Dave came in first place last week, so they depart first tonight. I’d like to say “Thanks a lot” to CBS for casting racers with the same names. As if it doesn’t get confusing enough, especially in these first couple of weeks. We’ve got two Rachels and two Daves. Luckily, G.F.’s head is so weird and distinct and the other Rachel annoyed me twice on Big Brother, so I can keep those two apart fairly easily. And one of the Daves is a freaking clown. Makes it a little easier.

Anyway, in typical fashion, the first task is apparently not available until sunrise (G.F. and Dave left first at 2:45 am) so pretty much everyone should be getting the next clue at the same time. Gotta love those clowns, Dave gives us a thumbs up to get started. These two are way too happy. Personally, when I think of clowns, I think of John Wayne Gacy. I … <a
