AMAZING RACE – 11/25/12

November 26th, 2012 | 2 Comments | Posted in Amazing Race 21

Back to Abbie and Ryan and Josh and Brent. They have chosen the Rembrandt painting recreation. Too bad that Abbie and Ryan do not realize that it is not smart to be running the Race with Josh and Brent. Since they are going to have to do that extra task, their one hope was to knock out the first half of the detour much quicker than the boys did. Running the Race together will not help with that. Abbie and Ryan finished the painting task first, but Josh and Brent finished right behind them.

And, finally…wonk, wonk, wonk. Abbie and Ryan and Josh and Brent get to the U-turn. They realize that Abbie and Ryan were U-turned by Jaymes and James and are also smart enough to figure out that Trey and Lexi U-turned Jaymes and James to use up that second U-turn specifically to get Abbie and Ryan out. I am left scratching my head when Josh and Brent tell Abbie and Ryan that they were going to tell Abbie and Ryan to U-turn Josh and Brent so that they could do the last tasks together. Seriously, what the hell? Was that just some smoke they were blowing up their *sses? Is this for a million dollars or a free Happy Meal? I figure they were just full of it because otherwise, why not just hang out with them while they do the second part of the U-turn? Nope, they were out of there and headed for the Ditch task. I really do think that if Abbie and Ryan had guilted them a little harder, they may have stuck with them. Anyway, the boys finally get a brain and realize that Abbie and Ryan would pulverize them to get to the pit stop mat first and they needed to haul *ss to the next task and leave those two in the dust.

Abbie and Ryan, with some extra bad luck, have to do the organ grind task in the rain. There’s barely anyone out there on the street, so the timing totally sucks. They are left only with the hope that Josh impales himself on that ditch pole. (By the way, Mr. Jujitsu himself really SUCKED at the ditch jumping. Did anyone else even have trouble with it at all? I think everyone else finished on the first try.)

Abbie and Ryan are just going through the motions at this point of the show, all dejected. They see the writing on the wall. This is no non-elimination leg. They boo hoo about getting U-turned by Jaymes and James like they’ve been friends for 20 years or something. Blah blah blah. They would’ve done the same. No doubt in my mind that Abbie and Ryan would’ve U-turned either Jaymes and James or Natalie and Nadiya if they had the chance. If anyone’s feeling bad for them, remember they ran over the chick with the metal legs in the first leg of the race to get to the pit stop first. They would’ve done what Jaymes and James did too, it just got done to them so now they are acting like they wouldn’t have done it.

I must say I am happy that someone I like will win this thing. Trey and Lexi are annoying, but I won’t be upset if they win. I am pulling for Jaymes and James or Nadiya and Natalie. I am happy to say that this is the first season in a long time where there’s no team I can’t stand in the final four! Generally, if I don’t like a team, they win the whole thing. Not this time!

Pit stop order:

1. Natalie and Nadiya
2. Jaymes and James
3. Trey and Lexi
4. Josh and Brent (Phil: “Want me to eliminate you and leave Abbie and Ryan in?” Was anyone else wondering for a second there that they would say yes?)
5. Abbie and Ryan (Eliminated!)

Have a great week!

  1. I am soooo happy to finally be rid of Ryan. He was annoying from the first show. And what the heck was Josh or Brent (the tall one) thinking when he said they could just follow Abbie & Ryan to their U-turn to show them support. Thank goodness the other one had the brains to say – wait a minute, someone has to step on the mat first and they aren’t going to “let us” just because we are morons who follow them around!

And sorry to say, I couldn’t have downed those nasty fish in the fast forward – not even for a million. Stop with the stupid food challenges. This isn’t fear factor. I agree they should step up some of the physical and/or cultural challenges. But when those two doctors had to eat the head of some animal or some of those other gross food challenges – yuck! Glad Survivor got away from those type of challenges.

Keep up the great recaps – love them 🙂

  2. *Waving* Good-bye, Abbie and Ryan … and good riddance!

Anyone notice that Phil seemed genuinely “sad to tell” them that they were eliminated? Well, I can understand it if all he (Phil) wanted was more drama within the teams and among the audience, but seriously, would he have been pleased to see them win?

Similarly, Phil seemed a bit pissed-off at how (stupidly) nice Josh and Brent have been acting, especially with his question about whether J&B were “sure” they were going to actually play the game from here on out … and his asking them if J&B wanted him (Phil) to eliminate them instead of Abbie and Ryan.

I’m with Kim – it won’t matter too much to me who wins as ALL the remaining teams are likeable in their own way and all of the “villains” are gone.

That said, I’m rooting for James & Jaymes.
