AMAZING RACE – 10/28/12

Here we are at week five already. As some of you may remember, I’m in one of those Mid-Atlantic states (Delaware). We are getting hit pretty badly with that hurricane already, and it’s technically not even really here yet. As I am typing this, it is crazy windy and rainy outside. I am really hoping this power doesn’t go out, so I can watch this show and get the column out. Best of luck to my fellow East Coasters and everyone affected by this storm.

Anyway, I think I can take anything but multiple days without power and my kids nagging me. I think at the most we’ve only had a full 24 hours without power since we’ve had the kids. It was 100 degrees out at the time, though. They spent that whole time screaming and asking “When is the power coming back!???!! I can’t get Wi-Fi!!!!????” Good thing these guys weren’t around in 1860 or anything. Anyway, there’s a chance for even up to a week without power and I am not … Continue reading

AMAZING RACE – 10/21/12

Week 4 already. Man, these football games are really screwing me over, especially when they go into OT. It’s getting to where you’re not watching Amazing Race until 10 or something. And you got to suffer through that stupid ticking clock over and over with 60 Minutes first. Maybe it’s different on the West Coast, but over here on the East Coast, it really sucks.

Anyway, on to the show. And…great. I’m reminded that my favorite karate jerk and dancer ex-wife/girlfriend/fiancé/whatever were in first. These two have to show us just how smart they are by showing us one finger that corresponds to their coming in first place on the last leg. They show us one finger like no less than 6 times. Thanks, we get the concept of first place and don’t need a game of charades from you to grasp that. I’ve got one finger to show you too, but I don’t think you’ll like it.

Over to Will and Gary, who are leaving last. Will says that this was the … Continue reading

AMAZING RACE – 10/14/12

We’re back and it’s week three already. The start of this leg is at a big fish market known for its “fresh produce.” It looks to be the same market that the dirty ice was delivered to in the last episode. I guess the word “fresh” has a different meaning in Indonesia, huh?

One of the first shots we see are of my least favorite team this season: Abbie and Ryan. He blabs on about how competitive they are—so much so that they compete with each other. Ha! How cute! Or not. Of course, he doesn’t miss a chance to mention that Abbie is competitive with her dance and he with his Jujitsu. First things first, is this b*tch on Dancing with the Stars or something? No. Who the freak is she competing against with dancing? Is she a ballroom dancer or something? Sounded like some ridiculous crap where he has to try to validate her stupid profession even though he thinks it’s dumb. And don’t get me started on the 1000th jujitsu mention. … Continue reading
